Bamboo-Timber decking replacement

Old Timber deck replacement.

In this photo you can see the old deck joists are already established. The old pine decking is being removed. Make sure you pull out all existing fixings so they are not in the way. A pro tip for removing old decking is running your skill saw down the centre of the joists cutting the boards in half, then you can pull off the left over timber.

Laying your new Bamboo decking timber

Your first run of boards is really important, to set up square and straight to the house or deck. It will make the rest of your installation a breeze. The bamboo decking comes with T&G ends- this means you can float the decking and the join doesn’t need to be above a joist. This will save you time and money. Finished bamboo timber decking

When adding you finishing touches you can direct fix screws where needed. Make sure you fully countersink the SS screws you are installing, as the bamboo is really dense and will break the screws. As shown in this photo. Any scracthes can be removed with some WOCA water based oil.
